Khama Billiat is a Zimbabwean professional footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Keizer Chiefs in South Africa. He also plays for the Zimbabwe national team, Mighty Warriors.
Billiat was born on 19 August 1990 in Harare, Zimbabwe.He went to Gwinyiro Primary School in Mufakose, Harare, where his talent was unearthed by a school groundsman,Mr Arufa Sumani. He started playing football at his primary school when he was in grade three and was one of the school’s first team key player.
However, Billiat was not not so bright at school work. This was revealed by his former tutor Mrs Eunice Dembera as she said that it was a struggle to get him read through a simple english sentence.
Billiat went to Lord Malvern school in Waterfalls for his secondary education.
His playing career started in Aces Youth Soccer Academy, while the first professional club he played for was CAPS United. After spending just three months playing for CAPS United, he moved to Ajex Cape Town where he made his first appearance on 20 August 2010 in the match against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Khama played for Ajex Cape Town from 2010 to 2013. He then moved to Mamelodi Sundowns and signed a five year contract on 19 August 2013. In June 2018, Billiat joined his current club, Keizer Chiefs.
In May 2016 Billiat was instrumental in Mamelodi Sundowns’ dominance in the ABSA Premier League. He managed to scoop the player of the month award during the season. In January 2017, he was awarded the second best player in CAF awards ceremony which was help in Abuja, Nigeria.
Khama is the highest paid player in the ABSA Premiership following his move from Mamelodi Sundowns to Keizer Chiefs. He earns R10 million (about $741k) a year before tax which comes up to R833 33 ($62K) a month.
After 38% tax, Billiat reportedly takes home R515000 ($38500) a month.
Billiat is married to Esnath Munyedawo and the couple have a 8 years old daughter ,Kimberly.
In 2014 Billiat is said to have been involved in a love affair with a dancer and entertainer Beverly Sibanda.
