Khama Billiat’s Performance Not Up to Scratch

South African based Zimbabwean striker Khama Billiat put up a poor performance, in the quarter finals against Super Sport united at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban on Sunday.

The Zimbabwean striker  joined Kaizer Chiefs at the start of the season following the expiry of his contract at Mamelodi Sundowns, has been described as the best player at Kaizer Chiefs.

Fans have expressed their feelings on twitter on the disappointing performance in the fixture against Super Sport United in the Telkom Championship quarter finals.

Giovanni Solanis,Head Coach of Kaizer Chiefs  has likened Khama Biliat to players like Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi saying that he is a team player, remains adamant that the player is one of the best in the premier league.

“Khama is the best player in PSL at the moment and he doesn’t deserve to still be plying his trade here, that’s my opinion,” said Solanis.

Khama who put up an amazing performance in the Soweto Derby last month when he opened up the scoring sheet failed to keep up his perfect from against the Super sport side this weekend.

Kaizer Chiefs who are on number 7 on the log in the PSL, redeemed themselves from defeat in the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates , by beating Super Sport united 1-0  to advance to the Telkom semi finals.

The winning goal which secured the Chief’s  passage to the Telkom Knockout semi-finals came from Ramahlwe Mphahlele scoring a goal worthy of the Goal of the Season award, after Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande was denied an opening goal in a penalty that hit the woodwork in the 37th minute.

Ramahlwe Mphahlele saved Katsande’s blushes as he broke the deadlock for Amakhosi when he latched onto a loose ball,  six minutes before the break with a sensational volley from difficult angle that left the Super Sport goal keeper Ronwen Williams with no chance

Kaizer Chiefs Captain Itumeleng Khune said in an interview that Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to get a trophy this season.

‘’We are hungry for victory, we are hungry to win a trophy it’s been three years of drought, but we will march on, we will keep pushing, until our supporters get what they deserve, We needed to boost our confidence we know we have been under pressure to deliver, other guys are still settling, things are not gelling yet but we take each game at a time,’’ he said.

Although no team has won the championship more than Kaizer Chiefs, the Glamour Boys are hoping to break a four-year-old Soweto Derby jinx against the Pirates in their semi-final.

Kaizer Chiefs  have a weekly fixture playing against Black leopards which is set to kick off at 19:30pm on the 7th of November in a premier soccer league, will be hoping their key player Khama Billiat will be in the best of form.
