Zimbabwean Radio Station Host Cassper Nyovest Today!
The long wait is finally over as celebrated award-winning South African hip-hop and house music artist Cassper Nyovest grace Zimbabwe today (8 November 2018). The musician is expected to arrive today in Zimbabwe and to be hosted on radio in the afternoon.
The well-travelled Nyovest, who has also become a darling with many locals, makes a return to Zimbabwe after a sterling performance during his previous visit at Glamis Arena, while Prince Kaybee will be out to prove his prowess as a no-pushover in the showbiz circuit.
This event was supposed to be hosted late-September 2018. It was however postponed due to the cholera outbreak that the country was facing at the time. Organizers of the show were worried about the safety of the fans and the musicians thus the postponing of the event.
The show, dubbed ‘RSVP concert is set to feature some local artists. It was moved to November 10 at the same venue, Glamis Ar. Those who had already purchased their tickets before the show got postponed can rest easy. Event organizers have announced that the same tickets purchased then will still be used on Saturday (10 November 2018).
ALPHA Media Holding’s Heart and Soul Radio’s Unsigned Hype show duo of Lennon “Mic Sprinter” Gwara and Takudzwa “Angel TK” Kudiwa will, this afternoon (8 November 2018), host South African rapper Cassper Nyovest for an exclusive lunch interview, in the build-up to his headline slot with compatriot Prince Kaybee at the RSVP gig at Glamis Arena in Harare this Saturday.
The digital radio programme, produced by Ian P Universal, is an effort to prop up hip-hop at a time the urban culture is fast gaining clout, especially among millennials.
In an interview yesterday (7 November 2018), Mic Sprinter confirmed the live broadcast with Cassper Nyovest, who is expected to land today.
Tomorrow (today) we are going to do a lunch (broadcast) with Cassper Nyovest, doing an interview and video cover of his experience in Zimbabwe, adding that they would also have a phone interview with the star before he goes on stage at Glamis Arena, come Saturday.
According to Mic Sprinter, the two-hour platform, which airs every Saturday between 8am and 10am, is a space to expose talent to their audience.
“Basically, the show is about hip-hop and we are bringing new artistes from both Zimbabwe and the continent; we do interviews with them,” he said. “We offer new artistes who are going to blow up chances to get signed by Sony or Universal.”
The Unsigned Hype team, who work not only as radio personalities, but TV presenters and male models, is also set to host South Africa’s Da Les and Zambia’s Roberto among other established and fledgling artistes.
“It is a Heart and Soul programme and we, being sponsored by the likes of Events Evolution and other events organisers in Zimbabwe, it is going to be the benchmark set for any event.”
Events Evolution representative Tatenda Rushwaya said, yesterday, that preparations for the concert were going according to script.
We are happy with how the preparations of the RSVP concert are going on and how tickets are selling so far. We are encouraging people to buy on time to avoid a last-minute rush.
The South African stars are billed to share the stage with local acts, including ExQ, Takura, Jah Signal, Dadza D, Sasha, Sylent Nqo, Tammy Moyo and Nutty O, while DJs, including Chucknosis, Reverb 7, Robbie Tee, 263 Family and Naida will curry the flavour.
Advance tickets for the concert are selling at $10 at Avo Apparel, Kwame Mall, Hard Sounds Gulf Complex and Longcheng Plaza, Tropical Sounds and Sopranos in Avondale.
